If you haven’t heard about it, Nanowrimo is National Novel Writing Month. An annual event that inspires half a million people to write 50 Thousand words in the month of November. I’ve known about it since I was a child, and have been trying for 4–5 years to complete it. Unfortunately, I only made it to 30K back in 2018. Life just loved to distract me then, and I loved to let it. Not this year, life couldn’t distract me if it wanted to. Working from home and focusing on my creative studies has provided the perfect opportunity to finally finish and I hope you do to. Instead of letting this month pass you by, maybe try writing that book you always think about.

  1. 2020 Will Become the Year you Write A Novel in 30 Days

You will no longer have to look back and feel like the year 2020 just wasted away. You won’t look back and remember how the year went wrong but how you made the year your own. Writing a book is one of the most daunting tasks there is. Whether its your 1st, 5th, or 20th, completing a novel is a feeling unlike any other. So make yourself proud during this era of being at home! Write something you enjoy. Make sure you’re dedicating 30 days and 50K words to something that makes you excited, not unmotivated.

2. The Month of November will Fly By

We all know the election will make things a little crazy no matter what. So when shit hits the fan on November 3rd, escaping to your comfy little writing hole will feel amazing. It will give your mind the project it needs to steer clear of any toxic social media debates. It will give you a chance to channel pent up experience into a new habit by being purposeful with your energy,

For example, I can never solve anything with out writing a page about it. Imagine what you might find out about yourself when the words start flowing. Once you are captured in a creative pattern that buzzes with energy, more ideas reveal themselves than you realize.

3. IT’S FUN

Finding a Nano buddy and planning my novel in October is always the freshest start to the fall season. It creates buzzing excitement and talk of new ideas. Creating a story is one of the most original and respected forms of writing to exist. If you are holding yourself back this year form writing that novel, don’t. If its any year its this one. Who knows, next year could be as busy and bustling as the last; but in the midst of 2020 as I see the world turning slowly for the first time in a long time, I know there are magnificent minds out there who have 50K words to write about. So let’s get to it.
